I have started with MFP in an attempt to keep better track of what I am eating on a regular basis. I am currently in the process of being diagnosed with endometriosis, my appointment with the specialist is next week. So far the doctors know through ultrasounds that I have a cyst on my left ovary as well as a number of cysts on my endometrium. I am aware that diet can be a contributing factor. In the last two years I have gained nearly 90 pounds. My goal is to get back on track with healthy eating and exercise in hopes that it will ease my symptoms that I have suffered from for just over a year. Just looking to get healthy overall as right now I am not in a good place. Any suggestions/tips are kindly welcome.

Endo is a *kitten*. A dr I once had told me to eat: No dairy, no wheat, no sugar, no meat.

I found my strategy of Oxy and wine worked better.

I don't have diagnosed endo, but I do (did) struggle with cysts and extremely painful periods and ovulation. But every time I am off wheat and sugar (basically low carb) I feel so much better. Lighter periods, and ZERO pain.

Hi ... I did the whole operation thing for endometriosis and a huge cyst but it was only partially resolved. Did a lot of work with a traditional Chinese herbalist and a therapist to deal with a lot of other stuff I had going on at the same time ... My health basically got better as i addressed everything. Refused long term contraceptive meds as I am a very sensitive hormonal person. I am finding a low calorie diet balanced across the macros working for me with less pain and symptoms (weight watchers did not help me by making a lot of foods I crave too high in points). My iron is still shockingly low but am working on that. It's defiantly a serious condition that needs a multi-faced approach and constant care. I totally get where you are at!
