Just really started to pay attention to MFP, and am finding that now that I am keeping track again of my calorie intake, I am watching even more carefully what I eating, and most importantly...WHY. My mother was diagnosed with NASH/Fatty liver disease five years ago, and it has now progressed to Cirrhosis. Because of years and years of not doing what her doctor was telling her to do, not exercising, and watching what she ate, her liver is now useless to her, and she is unable to take back the years of "not listening". I don't want my children watch me literally eat myself to death. I can take control NOW, of what I'm doing, and what they are eating as well, and help them make better choices. I'm hoping to get good advice, make some friends, and hopefully, in a couple of days, get the nerve up to take a "before" picture to post....Good luck, and don't quit to all of you on this long journey we've all embarked on.

Hello and welcome! I'm here for health reasons as well, considering my father is now struggling with diabetes and my doctor warned me I was on a slippery slope to get it myself, only sooner. Scary!
Before pictures suck! I have one, I hope never to look at it again until I have an 'after' to go with it, :laugh:0
