Hi people. I am at the end of week 1 and see no weight loss - strangely I am exactly at the same starting weight. Normal? I am not cheating and I am a large portion of the time hungry.

What's your experience/insight?

Are you weighing all solid foods with a food scale? That was a mistake I made my first few weeks.

I made lots of mistakes in my first few months. I didn't weigh food, I "forgot" to log bites and tastes I took of foods, I didn't even try to be accurate a few days out of the week. It took me a long time to learn that accuracy helps me understand my body's needs. I still only averaged 20 pounds of loss per year.

    Yep, me too.

I started out, as so many people do, using cups and measuring spoons to measure. I estimated a lot, or I went strictly by the packaging. I never recorded tastes, bites here and there, etc. As a result of all of that, I got very down on myself when the scale didn't move.

But hey, the important thing that I did learn is to keep going and learn from the information posted on these threads. Believe me, I read all of them lol! And the key was that I didn't quit.

I also forgot to log what I cooked in when I started, like butter and oils. That adds up quickly!

I believe it took me a couple weeks to see any progress. I cut down to 1200 calories and stuck with it. in 4 weeks I lost 14 pounds (probably a lot of water weight) and 4 months later I'm down 37 pounds. It takes *time* just keep on the wagon!
