What to order at the diner

There was just a post about how healthy diner food is, and I want to know what the best choice would be. I know even if you ordered "grilled chicken" you'd still be getting greasy oily chicken from a grill-pan. Would it be safe to order something like a turkey sandwich? Or is coldcut meat there different as well?

    Turkey sandwhich most places=Bad

Get the garden salad with the fat free or a balsalmic vinagrette....if they actually have a grill then get grilled chicken breast or grilled Shrimp.

i normally would go online and see if i can find a menu then I can take my time to find something healthy before hand. if not,, turkey sandwich does sound good, stay away from any mayo based condiments and get like a side salad w/dressing off to the side. if you have a smart phone, go to livestrong.com or calorieking.com and look up the foods on the websites. They usually have the foods or something close with the calorie and fat content

my all time fave is an egg white western omelet (egg whites, peppers, onions, ham) and i get salsa and hot sauce - if i REALLY want cheese i ask for 1 slice of american melted in so i know how much is in there. i ask for mixed greens, pickles, or some lettuce and tomato instead of the potatoes (the extra $$ is worth it to me), and whole wheat toast without butter. i usually end up using one of those little butter packets and one of the jelly but that's still way less than they slab on. i also figure the grease on the grill isn't all that much and you can ask them to go light on it for the omelet too.

it's so hearty i don't even care that my friends are eating chicken fingers and fries!
