3500 calories = 1 pound
So if you have a calorie deficit of 500 a day in one week you would lose a pound.
At least in theory. In practice it is seldom, if ever, that simple.0 -

Wow, there's a scary thought. You can gain 124 pounds in 10 years by going over your calories by 132 calories a day.....Jeez, that 1/3 of a candy bar a day more than your allotted calories. You could do that with a dinner roll or a couple extra pats of butter.
I just got a whole new perspective on my recent trouble maintaining on the weekends. Maybe I better stop forgiving myself and just fix it!!!! I may have trouble sleeping tonight:noway:0 -

And as Chef Tony would say "Wait there's more!".
I recently started measurements. Don't get me wrong but I always thought that if you wore size fifty pants and you wore them properly on your waist and you didn't have to suck it up to button them it meant you had a 50inch waist give or take a inch. My waist is 58 inches and my size fifties are now loose by about an inch. Its a small wonder that we all don't end up face down on a bed with a catheter you know where!
The fattening of America! Truly one of the great conspiracies!0
