OK,, I'm wondering if the "PAIN" they go through on Biggest Loser, and all others who are overweight, & losing... is inevitable...

Last Season of BL, I remember the scene when they lugged the weight they had lost, & dropped off each weeks weight at a check point, & them talking after about the pain they had before they started, they no longer had~ and that was a relief to them...

When can you know if its "good pain" or "bad pain"???

I can't use a doctor right now, & have always done it on my own, but I'm older this time, & its harder... and the pain is just constant soreness... what are ya'lls experiences or knowledge on what pains to worry about???

anybody???

Personally I have always considered being sore as a way of knowing I really pushed myself during my workout - almost like it was proof of what I accomplished.

If it hurts though, that is another thing, I had pulled a muscle in my shoulder at one point and it was a VERY different feeling - it really hurt!

I think as long as you work within your comfort zone and don't feel like anything is hurting then you should be okay.

If you're like me, the start was hard because i was out of shape - going up the stairs made my legs hurt. You just have to push past it and keep going, things get easier with time and practice.

Right - I'll tell you my philosophy with the proviso that this is only my philosophy and others think it's a little lunatic!

My body does what I tell it to do and no amount of whinging and whining and squeaking and tweaking from it is going to make me stop doing what I want to do. If I break something or something drops off, I will listen to it. Until then, I am in charge and it does what I tell it. Basically, I treat it like a drill sargeant!

That said, it means that I am often in a small to medium amount of pain but as I have knee problems and I exercise hard, I just ignore it. Once a year I have a full work-up to make sure there's nothing kooky going on but it's all good so far.

On being older, carrying 50% or more additional weight when you are younger is easier then when some years have gone by.
My feet don't hurt when I wear shoes which gives me confidence to get a better job which requires me to be presentable...for one bene of getting to a lower weight.

i was in a car wreck 3 years ago and have a very bad hip... this whole time dieting i was using it as an excuse to not excercise; but now im in a biggest loser comp and want to kick butt... ive been taking glucosamine condratine and thats been helping my joints; also excess water seems to help... and doing workouts by concentrating on other areas besides my sore spots.. like if my hip hurts doing and upper body workout and doing walking and such on days wehre my hip doesnt hurt to bad.
