Knee pain after returning to work.

Options
I've returned from my 4month maternity leave a few weeks ago. Currently trying to lose weight, have been safely. While on leave I was doing 30 min of kettlebell cardio 3 times a week and walking. but since returning my knees have been in pain. I have been reducing my 30min workouts to 2 a week. I work one on one at a high school. It's not too strenuous but lots of stairs and more walking. Tylenol and Bengay isn't working. Any advice? My cardio consists of squats and lunges and they aren't too intense and I don't want to quit and have to start all over again.

See the doctor before it turns into a chronic problem. They can probably give you corrective exercises. Things like chondromalacia (kneecap not running symmetrically in its track) can be a big problem and tear up your cartilage. Doctors can give you muscle balancing exercises to get things back to normal, and can suggest modifications to your current exercises until you're healed. An orthopedist would be optimal, but your general practitioner can probably help also, if specialists are too expensive.

Make an appointment with an orthopedist.

Yeah it's the front of my knees. I'm pretty sure my squatting form was incorrect.

Update: I've been taking Aleve and icing it and my muscle soreness has reduced dramatically. Also took a week off workout

Glad to see the icing and aleve is working but I would still get it checked out to be on the safe side.
