Sore toes

Hi, I have started running and have recently completed a 10k. I love running and the way it makes me feel. However, I get really painful ties in my left foot. I have been to Run4It and got a pair of trainers fitted but they are still hurting

Hurting in what way? Blisters, shoes too tight, bruised?1

^ Good questions, there. To really help, we need to identify the problem.
I can share that I used to have this issue - I run hills on a semi-regular basis, so as I was running down a hill, my feet would slide forward and hit the end of my shoes. I found a way to tie the shoes that kept that from happening, so if this is your issue, I leave you with this: http://www.runnersworld.com/running-tips/alternative-ways-to-tie-your-running-shoes
Edited because I left the wrong link. Here's a better one: https://runnersconnect.net/running-injury-prevention/how-to-lace-your-running-shoes/

It is the end of my toes that become painful, I don't get blisters it's just really sore. Any advice gratefully received!0

It sounds like your shoes might be too small. You need a bit of extra room. I also have that problem because my second toe is longer so if the shoe is not "long" enough, I get blisters there.0

Take the shoes back to Run4It. It sounds like they're too small. Also, make sure your not gripping your toes or scrunching them up when you run.0
