Pain in lower stomach during push ups?

I don't really feel my arms working too hard when doing push ups. Just my lower stomach. Is my form wrong?

Nice article on pushups. Keep your body tight, squeeze your glutes though the movement.

Push-ups work much more than your arms. How is your core? How wide do you spread your arms during push-ups?1

I know I pulled a muscle in my lower stomach during a workout and push ups or planks would aggravate it. Anything that activated that muscle would hurt. If it hurts during other core work that might b it0
