.. im trying to loose as much weight as possible in 10weeks due to a biggest loser compeition..and am now excercising 3x a day; i have been going crazy with my 3lb weights, throwing them around for 40minutes a day total; and doing about 40 reps on my resistance band set a day--the heaviest in the set of 3 that i got at walmart, dont know the resistance level...
i want to get more toned and help with skin elasticity; but will i gain a bunch of muscle due to these small of weights?? i dont want to gain to much muscle right now since im trying to loose alot of weight in 10weeks... im on day 3 of using them and the very tops of my arms ache.. i plan to do this same routine 3x a day, for 10weeks (thats using them a total of 47 hours).

I don't think you're going to bulk up like a man-beast in that short time. Strength training is great with body or tube bands! Get a REALLY good sweat out of using those!0

nope, but keep your protein up and if you really want to see results email me i have asome outstanding ideas0

If you're not eating the calories to put on the mass, and you're not working with weights that are challenging your muscles, you won't "bulk up." Your weights are working more for a cardiovascular routine. Make sure you're still netting the right calories if you're working out as much as you do, and HYDRATE!0

You won't gain a significant amount weight building muscle if you're only using 3 lbs weights. You'd have to follow a much more aggressive lifting and eating plan if you wanted to build muscle. And even then it is much harder for women to gain muscle mass because our bodies simply don't produce enough testosterone to get bulky. Good luck in your competition!0

I drink 20+ cups of water a day; and trying to eat all my calories but finding it difficult. im suppose to eat 1570 a day which i can do no problem; but then when i burn 600-900 calories a day im having trouble filling them up.. Ive added in nuts, and such... but im trying to eat as clean/natural as possible, and eating an extra 900 calories a day is hard when all i want for my snack is a cucumber or carrots. or a banana or strawberries... id love to have a salad for dinner but thats outta the question with needing to eat so many calories... even a chicken salad with nuts and cheese is under 200 calories and i cant be having that sort of meal. my goal is to net 1400 calories a day; today im netting 1300 and i still have 2 workouts to go, so ill be at like 700-800 net... ugh.. ive already added in milk, yogurt, and double serving of potatoe with dinner instead of single and making a side salad for dinner with cheese and nuts, and.. ugh.. how could i add in anything more? i tried to make it a high calorie day by adding in nuts and such but it still didnt work out for me.0 -
Weights alone don't build mass, you have to eat excess calories to gain significant mass; basically it's roughly almost double your maintenance calories.0
