Did I eat too much saturated fat today?

I had about 20g of saturated fat today. About 10g coming from steak, 4-5 from a birthday cake and the remaining from almond butter and peanut butter. In total I've eaten 2250/calories today (which is my maintenance) I worry about saturated fat because of all the myths about it and how its bad for you.

Think about a weekly goal rather than daily

    20g? It's nothing. Stop worrying.

Like someone said upthread, if you think it's a myth, why are you worrying about it.

I don't think it's a myth at all, but if you read the actual nutrition information going over the recommended limit on occasion isn't a big thing. What you eat on one day doesn't matter. If the MFP goals make you crazy, don't use them.

I wonder about this. I would think that if I ate a half a week's worth of sat fats on a certain day, for instance, and as a consequence plaque was deposited on my arteries, would eating a lower amount of sat fats than the allowable limit (the other half of the weekly total) over the other six days cause this deposited plaque to be re absorbed? I have this idea that once plaque is deposited it is difficult to remove. And that we are wise to avoid sat fat spikes because of this. Sorry, I have no studies at my fingertips to support this view.

That's not how any of this works. I takes years and years for things like that to build up in your body, a day or a week of overeating fats make no difference.
