MFP gave me the same average numbers any other site did.
The one thing I do differently is NOT to eat back exercise calories.
I walk daily for my health.

MFP gives you your daily calorie goal based on; height, weight, age, gender, and activity level (not the same thing as exercise).....then subtracts calories based on "I want to lose xx pounds per week."

If you are getting different numbers from other websites, you either

    a) Have a different weekly weight loss goal on those sites or b) those other sites have included exercise up front

1200 (before exercise) is the lowest DEFAULT minimum on MFP. You got this number because you are very petite, or are a senior or because 2 pounds a week is an aggressive goal.

    Pound per week goals
75+ lbs set to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs set to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs set to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs set to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs set to lose 0.5 lbs range

How do you know WW was more calories? You are using points instead......not really the same thing.

1,200 calories a day is when I start going insane - too low.
for me, it leads up to bingeing
focusing on healthy natural foods helped me.

thanks for that - the old points system was based on calories so easy to work out using daily allowance and just from awareness know I was eating more
