July food challange

Alright, here's the deal. My fiance and I decided that for the entire month of July we are not going to eat any processed foods. We will make our own foods if we want something, or do without if we can't.
Anyone want to take this challenge? Eat real, homemade food for one month and see what happens. Want iced tea? Boil your own tea, ice it, add sugar (or not) and maybe a twist of lemon. Why not make your own bread? It is very easy and freezes well. Let's make this month the month where we do our best not to ingest any non-food chemicals!

(Loophole rule: If a natural food that you are unable to make has less than three ingredients, all of which are food, then it may still be eaten. ie: yogurt)

Hey this sounds very interesting, especially because I am saving up for dermabrasion (eek!). I want to join in, but I need more clarification. How about eating out? What about electrolyte drinks? Frozen foods? How will we keep track of it?

We can do this! July 2011 will be unforgettable, stronger one step at a time.

Eating healthy is always a good first step. Avoiding eating out and store bought food stuffs will help make all your meals healthier. It is not easy, but it is definitely worth it. :)

Well, I am not going to be eating out this month, just to give myself better control of what is in my food. Frozen foods, as long as it is all real food, is fine. I eat frozen veggies all the time. I haven't drank electrolyte drinks in ages, and I am doing fine without. But some people love them and swear by them, so it is up to you. This is also a challenge, so the word "TRY" is hanging overhead, because heaven knows I will probably slip up. :)

I'm in! Let's not count the AWFUL breakfast I had, though. :) Otherwise, I eat pretty well in general, and going totally home-made won't be that huge of a push for me.

Do you garden? We've got some great stuff growing right now - all of my salad greens last week came from the yard! Can't wait for tomatoes to be done, either.

You know what else this means? It'll give me the nudge I need to try making my own things like mayo (which I won't give up on my sandwiches - I love it too much!) and pasta. Breads are super easy to make, too.

Ohhhh.. cheese... I bet I can find an organic/natural cheese. Or maybe this is something I'll just allow myself to have in moderation.

Anyway, I think as long as everyone is stepping out of their normal routine and trying a new way of preparing and eating food, it's a great challenge!

HAHAHAHAH!!!! Homebrew falls under the 'three ingredient' rule. BOO YA. ;)

Glad to hear you guys are in. So far I have made a fantastic stir fry for dinner and had a good (three ingredient) beer and (three ingredient) wine last night!

Cheese... I need to find a good organic cheese too. Maybe I will look into Cabot.

    Good luck to you all!!
