So in 28 days, you have lost 7lbs? Or that you have been stuck at 262 for 28 days? Because if it's the first, you are losing reasonably for your current weight.

OP you lost 7 pounds in three/four weeks.. What's wrong?

Perhaps some clarification is in order to determine a true stall or if you are being impatient?

I lost the weight the first 10 days and have been stuck since? True I did lose 7 pounds since I began, but thought I should keep losing. Maybe I am just being impatient. I definitely am following the program and not gaining. I set my goal for 1.5 week from the starting gate. Thank you for your replies.

I know some of these have been covered, but these are my really generic tips for stalls:

    1. If it's been less than 3 weeks or so, don't sweat it! Normal fluctuations happen and unfortunately sometimes we stall for a week or two even when we're doing everything right. Give your body some time to catch up with the changes you're making.

    2. If you aren't already, be sure that you're logging everything. Sometimes people forget about things like veggies, drinks, cooking oils, and condiments. For some people these can add up to enough to halt your weight loss progress.

    3. Consider buying a food scale if you don't already have one. They're about $10-$20 dollars in the US and easily found at places like Amazon, Target, and Walmart. Measuring cups and spoons are great, but they do come with some degree of inaccuracy. A food scale will be more accurate, and for some people it makes a big difference.

    4. Logging accurately also means choosing accurate entries in the database. There are a lot of user-entered entries that are off. Double-check that you're using good entries and/or using the recipe builder instead of someone else's homemade entries.

    5. Recalculate your goals if you haven't lately. As you lose weight your body requires fewer calories to run. Be sure you update your goals every ten pounds or so.

    6. If you're eating back your exercise calories and you're relying on gym machine readouts or MFP's estimates, it might be best to eat back just 50-75% of those. Certain activities tend to be overestimated. If you're using an HRM or activity tracker, it might be a good idea to look into their accuracy and be sure that yours is calibrated properly.

    7. If you're taking any cheat days that go over your calorie limits, it might be best to cut them out for a few weeks and see what happens. Some people go way over their calorie needs without realizing it when they don't track.

    8. If you weigh yourself frequently, consider using a program like trendweight to even out the fluctuations. You could be losing weight but just don't see it because of the daily ups and downs.

    9. Some people just burn fewer calories than the calculators predict. If you continue to have problems after 4-6 weeks, then it might be worth a trip to the doctor or a registered dietitian who can give you more specific advice.

4 weeks, 7 pounds lost. You (pretty much)did it. Congratulations!

Weight loss is not linear (that comes up on my phone automatically now, I've said it so many times). You will not lose weight every day.

As Dory said in Finding Nemo (i actually sing it to myself when nothing is moving on the scale) just keep swimming swimming swimming.

thank you.. I just want to see below 260 for some real excitement ! But reluctant to cut more calories, as mfp tells me 1760 for 1.5 per week...?

I started at 234. Got stuck at 228. Picked back up and got to 216 and stuck again. Riding it out as this is all in the past two months. 18 lbs down is a good start for two month I think.
Just keep riding that scale...eventually it will move.

Some people lose in whooshes and stalls. Others will have regular losses with a week or two stall and occasional gain. Patience isn't easy, but it is a necessity. Congrats on the 7lb loss!

funny to re read my original post.. I'm down to 229 from 269... but I have been on a plateau for months now, but that is ok as I'm not gaining a pound! I believe it's my new medications holding me steady as they are known to cause weight gain... oh well...

If you have lost 33 pounds in 4 months, there is no way you've plateaued for "months." That's 8.25 pounds a months, over 2 lbs a week. Sounds like you're doing quite well, actually.

Agreed, I'm definitely a whoosher. It can be frustrating when it doesn't move but if you persevere it will come down gradually xx

still stuck at 230 all these months, so I just lowered my caloric level from 1560 to 1530 after I changed my goal from 225 to 200 pound goal.
