MFP and FITBIT

Hey ya'll - hope this is the right place to post this question.

I've been using a Fitbit for a month or so, but I've been off the MFP tracking wagon for a couple months. I'm now getting back to it and syncing the two.

I currently have my activity level on MFP set as 'sedentary' with the intention of eating added exercise calories as needed through Fitbit adjustments. Is this the recommended method?

Average daily steps on Fitbit right now is 11k.

SO right now my goal cals on MFP are 1480 (sedentary) -- currently a +300 exercise adjustment from Fitbit, so 1780ish available for the day. However, Fitbit itself tells me I've burned 1985 for the day, total ... which makes me think my calories should be more in the range of 1385 total. Am I wrong?

Golly I hope so. :)

1985 calories burned is the number of calories you've burned up to that minute. You'll still be burning calories until midnight. MFP is basing your adjustment on what they assume your total calories burned for the day will be. Just keep in mind that, as you're likely to be less active in the evening hours, your calorie adjustment may drop.

OHHHHH hahaha that makes sense! Thank you! I guess my big focus now will be to get back in the habit of food tracking :)

This still totally confuses me too... Doesn't help I misplaced my Fitbit this weekend. :(
