First & foremost keep an eye on overall calories. Over calories means you might not reach your weekly weight loss goal. Some people track this weekly instead of daily. Over a little one day, under a little the next. It all works out.
Anyway - macros: protein, fat and carbs. Tracking these values is for your nutrition and/or medical issues. Some people choose high fat, some people choose low carb, whatever works for you & keeps you full (and satisfied). Meeting (or exceeding) protein goals is important. You want to limit lean muscle loss.0 -
Calories are king for weight loss. As long as you hit your calorie goals, you should lose weight (barring any medical issues).
That said, getting enough fat is important for things like general health, hormone balance, vitamin absorption, etc. So don't go too low on the fats unless you have to.2 -

Just count calories if your sole purpose is to lose weight. Many people will count fats, protein or carbs on here to maintain their lean body mass and hormone levels though.0
