That's why I am going public which I have never done before. With others watching it might shame me in to reaching my goal which is a stone and a half away. I lost weight a few years ago with Jason vale juicing and even though I know it works I just can't face the thought of just juicing for the first seven days. So today I walked to work and home again instead of taking the car and I have eaten healthily. I bought a wok and a healthy stir fry but to be honest I have no experience of stir frying at all and I am usually a traditional shepherds pie, lasagne, bolognese, pizza type of person. Ok I am going to stop now because it is making me hungry. I will drink my cup of tea and go straight to bed so that I don't cheat.

I've had many many Day 1's in my time. I realize now that I had so many of them because I kept trying to starve myself instead of eating at a small deficit. You can eat all of those things still, just take a smaller portion and throw in a salad with it if you like. Are you tracking your calories? Technically you could eat those foods and ONLY those foods and lose weight (assuming you eat only so much of them that you are eating at a deficit), but it would be tough. Best to make sure you are meeting your fibre and protein goals as well as your calorie goals. Makes the whole process a lot easier to tolerate. Speaking of easier, I have had my goal set to 0.5lb/week weight loss so my deficit is quite small. Still works. Best of luck!

Thank you @goldthistime for the support. I am one of those who have to keep on top of everything that goes in my mouth or Bam! it takes root. I have done weightwatchers, slimmingworld etc etc and achieved gold but now my clothes are confirming I either buy the bigger size or take control. I need to maintain longterm which is why I am aiming to control the carbs/proteins/fats etc which I haven't done before and today I changed my settings to public so I have nowhere to hide. 24 hours done and half way through today so I am staying positive. Hope you are doing well today as well.

Thank you @TatajanaScylinda for the vote of encouragement. I agree that attitude definitely plays a big part. Often hunger isn't the problem it's the mind telling us we need that chocolate bar. Anyway I've not touched chocolate all week so I am pleased. Going out for a meal tomorrow night but I'll be back to it on Saturday. Hope you do well too.

Don't "be back to it on Saturday. " If you are logging, log everything to the best of your ability.
Log your meal out. Reconstruct your dinner with guesses if you have to but do not just skip it.

You can do this. The biggest thing you can do to keep you on track is look for an end goal and look for a reason to get there. For me it was my wife and my daughter. I wanted to know I would be there when they get older. I want to grow old with them, and watch my daughter dance the waltz we call "Life" .... You can do it. We have faith in you.

Thank you @mjneidlinger and @junodog1 it does make a difference reading your encouraging words. I recorded everything even when I went over. I have stuck to it so I am feeling happy that I am going in the right direction. My hardest things are going without chocolate which I ate daily and also trying to get the carbs, protein and fat balance correct as I know it probably impacts cholesterol etc. But I am getting there so thanks again and I hope you all have a good week.

How do you feel about dark chocolate? I can have a square of the 85% stuff without awakening the crave monster. I especially like the bags of individually packaged squares.

You're welcome, in the most kind of ways.

Chocolate isn't a bad thing. Dark Chocolate is actually good for you metabolism. The biggest problem with Milk Chocolate is Sugar and Milk. If you can do Dark Chocolate that could cut out the two others.

Thank you for all of the support. I will persevere with the water and I must admit it is easier today than it was last week so maybe I will end up liking it. I will buy the good dark chocolate next time I feel I need it. It's not something I have tried before but I'm willing to give it a go. Watch this space
