I'm jetting off on holiday on Sunday - Woo-hoo!! My question is, as I will probably be unable to access the internet all week, will I be able to fill in my food/exercise diary in retrospect, when I come back? I intend to write down everything that I need to input o:) , but it would be very frustrating if MFP doesn't allow me to go back a whole week to fill in my meals? Does anyone have any experience of this?

Personally, I'd just go enjoy vacation and enjoy and not obsess about this. I don't even see how the data would be particularly relevant after the fact.

I believe you can go back and entered your food. I'm just not sure HOW far back. Enjoy your trip!

I shut MFP down while on Vacation/Holiday. I pay attention to what I eat and I exercise (either as part of the vacation or make it a point to workout/run) but I vacation. Generally put on 5 pounds that are gone in the first week back home and back on the program.

Just let it go. I go to the beach every year for 3 months and our internet access is bad to nothing (this because everyone moves from the city to the beaches and there is internet overload). I just don't log and tell everyone I'll be back mid-september.

Yes you can enter when you get back - you can go back at least a month, as I have had to do that on occasion. If you watch what you eat while you are away, I bet you will enjoy your holiday more, instead of stressing that every morsel you put in your mouth might be the one that makes you lose control. Thats what I did on a recent cruise - ate to my calories, fit in the occasional champagne and sweets, and got back home without gaining an ounce.

If it truly is a lifestyle change, then its got to happen everyday, regardless of whats going on.

I just returned from 10 days in Colombia...inadvertently lost 3 Lbs...lots of walking and seeing what there is to see, etc...I also drank copious amount of beer and rum...just go have fun on your vacation.

Thanks, all! I do intend to enjoy my holiday, but I also know, from past experience, that if I 'take a break' from my nutri-blasting regime, I won't get back on it when I return home >:) . I'm really enjoying doing it, but I reckon my sweet tooth and carb-loving tastebuds are with me for life and I really don't want to lose the momentum that I have at the moment! I'll let you know how it goes in 10 days time....

Only for my own records, cwolfman13! My organised brain would hate to see a gap in the MFP history!! (Obsessional? Perhaps - but only slightly!!)

I found I could log even without Internet, but only foods that were in my recents perhaps? I think I was also able to use the bar code reader without Internet. We had very spotty wifi on our vacation last summer, but I managed to keep logging (it was fairly early in my weight loss and I didn't want to lose momentum).

@Mitramonday - I think I'm in the same mind frame as you. I do not track my food - and beverage - as closely whilst on vacation, but just writing it down helps me keep in mind my good habits.

On the phone app I can use recent foods and frequent foods if I am not connected.
You can add other info to the notes section for foods you cannot log.
Then when you return, fluff up your entries based on what is in your notes.

That is a true holiday, no internet. Enjoy the time with yourself, your family and nature! :)
