Moms with 150 lbs + to lose

I'm new to my fitness pal but not new to trying to lose weight. I've been using another calorie counting website for a lot of years but it's not really mobile phone friendly so I joined yesterday.
I'm really struggling this time around. I find it really hard to cook foods that my 3 kids will eat that is still low in calories. And I can't afford to cook 2 different meals, and realistically I know that I would want to eat theirs instead of mine most of the time.
I know getting healthy/losing weight without kids would still be a struggle but I just can't seem to get it together and keep them happy and fed at the same time.
Is there anyone else that has that struggle? I often feel like I'm alone.

I'm in the exact same boat. All the way down to having 3 kids lol. The struggle is very much there. I can't afford to buy double the food either. The trick is to sneak in the healthy foods with your kids not knowing that you're doing it. I made meatballs the other day. Gave my kids them on a Sub. Funny thing was, it was all ground turkey hahaha. They couldn't tell because of the sauce1

I have four kids and they are all very picky. My 6 year old twins are starting to eat more but my 3 and 1 year olds are terribly picky. I still make healthy meals and then try to do 1-2 sides that I know they like. Most meals are a lean meat with veggies. Then my kids will get a carb as well and fruit. I just eat the meat and veggies. It's A LOT of work eating well with picky kids at home but you can do it!!! For breakfast and lunch I make a separate meal for myself eggs, oatmeal and salad are my main go tos! I am 2.5 months in and have lost 19lbs so far. So it can be done... It just takes a lot of commitment... And you have to make your healthy eating a priority and even explain it to your kids. I prepped all my breakfast, snacks and salad stuff on the weekend so it's easy grab and go during the week as well. Good luck!!! And keep trying!2

I have 2 very picky eaters and the one exceptional eater. My oldest (she's 9), hates all vegetables. Hiding them is almost impossible, she can sniff them out like a hound on a mountain lion.
My youngest (is 4) hates meat, once in a while if I hide chicken in a casserole she will eat it and sometimes ham but everything else is not going to happen. And since she hears my oldest say "I don't like .......(what ever veggie I fix)" she has now started saying the same thing and refusing veggies.
My middle kiddo (is 7) and she has always been a good eater and before this year would eat just about anything. She's still a good eater but I can see her class mates influence.
My husband isn't usually home (he's a truck driver) but when he is, he's also a very pick person (my oldest comes by it naturally0 -

My 13 year old will NEVER eat a vegetable. Or so she thinks. I make her these pizza's all the time. I puree the veggies myself though (there is something about eating baby food at the ripe old age of 33 that makes me feel weird) . My youngest boy (7) does the same thing my 13 year old does and he likes these too. Only my youngest daughter (9) will eat anything I make and she loves to cook so I told her that chefs never reveal their secret recipes so now she doesn't even tell the other two what's inside.0
