How long did it take or how much weight did you lose before you saw a difference in your pics? I still don't see a difference in my pictures and am still disgusted with them :(
Just wondering when I can actually like a picture of myself that I like??
Congrats to all of those who have posted their stories and pictures! Hopefully, one of these days I can post one here too one!!

 At about 15 pounds off I was okay with my pics. Now I am 31 pounds lighter and satisfied! Just have to work on toning!

Others saw a difference from about 30 pounds on. I didn't see it until about 90 pounds lost.

I didn't start recieving compliments from random people until I'd lost almost 30 lbs. I'm at the 40 mark now and I get compliments all the time. i think part of it has to do with frame though. I have a medium build with wide hips and the fat distributes fairly evenly on me. I won't have before and after pictures for 10 more lbs though, I'm taking it at my halfway mark.

What's interesting is my husband sees all the progress I've made and is very proud of me. I just see all the work I still need to do. I think it comes down to perception.

    Hi!
    1) I see you're from Newburgh! I grew up outside of Beacon!
    2) I don't really think there's a number that will make you see a difference. I'm still not sure if I see a real difference in photos but I feel a lot better about myself, which I think is more important.

Just keep working hard! You'll get there :)

Not sure about your height, so that may be why it doesn't seem so apparent to you; but 12 pounds is a great start regardless! Are you getting any feedback from any one else? How are your clothes fitting? Things like that can help.

This is an interesting comment for me. I am starting to wonder if we will ever really change our own self perception. I have lost 76 pounds so far and just posted before/now (cause it's not "after" yet) pics last night. I can see a huge change and get comments daily on the amount of weight I have lost. But in my own mind, I am still the fat guy in the room. For example, I just went on vacation and was still really self concious about my weight. We were boating/tubing/skiing, etc. all week, so there were shirtless moments, bathing suits 24/7, etc. Partway through the week, I realized that all my "healthy" friends were actually bigger than me, but their self perception was comfortable with themselves and my self perception was as the overweight, fat guy.

To answer the OP though, I started seeing a difference at about 25-30 pounds. Sooner than that, I noticed the difference in clothes. At 50 pounds or so, I started receiving daily compliments at work. But like I mentioned, I have yet to notice any change in the way that I percieve myself mentally.

Around 40 lbs. I started seeing and feeling results. I could last longer exercsing, I was able to start running, and people realized that I was going to do this and I wasn't going to stop or slow down. The first few months were pretty solid 10lbs a month - it's slow down to sometimes only 1-2 pounds a month (and an occassional 6lbs) but, I realized inches come off when weight does not and that makes me just as happy now then it would of made me several months ago. Keep at it and keep taking picture because you will notice small things like a back roll all of a sudden gone! Good luck the journey is worth it. :)
