Exercise induced water weight gain

What kind of increase is average for exercise induced gain? I did go over my calories yesterday, but only by 50 calories. I've been on these boards long enough to expect some kind of gain, but I woke to an increase of almost two pounds. I started Couch to 5k Monday night. If I do day two tonight, should I expect another two pounds Friday morning? How long does it usually take to go away?

A few lbs is not unreasonable, but it can be difficult to segregate how much is coming from just exercise. But you won't see a compounding factor every time you exercise. It's more constant.

I have woken up 2 lbs. heavier. Then right back to where I was the next day. It's not uncommon.

Exact weight & how long it takes to go away depends on a lot of factors. But 2lbs is not abnormal, considering the info that you've shared. As long as you know your calorie logging is on point, don't worry about it. It comes off when it comes off. Weight loss is not linear.

Don't get too hung up on one measurement of weight. A lot of us fluctuate daily, depending recent diet, water intake, water retention or how close to a meal you weigh yourself. Try this...weigh your self right now and put down a big glass of water and weigh right afterwards, then weigh again in three hours. All of the measurements will probably be different. I weigh daily and average the numbers for that week's weight to average out the fluctuations.

I'm always good for a 2lb jump when I switch up my lifting. My weight is up now in fact. It lasts a couple days and falls off. It doesn't happen every time.
