do you crave junk food when you're feeling under the weather? I'm battling the summer sniffles and I'm craving french fries and their salty goodness. I haven't buckled yet but we're in day 3 and my resolve is weakening.

Oh wow that sounds like me. I LOVE junk food when I'm not feeling well, but if it's the cough I have or something I know I can't eat any because the fried stuff'll hurt as it goes down. But yeah, I completely know what you mean! I just usually drink lots of water to keep myself full, and tell myself that if I succumb, I'm going to be ill so much longer :P

Buy a Frozen bag and bake some, I think you can have like 15 for 120 Calories. I know it is bad but better then 300 calories for Wendy's small fries! Good Luck!

Hang on Lisa. The craving is just a phantom to try to comfort yourself. Drink water and try to make yourself do an activity you can manage with the sniffles. You can do this.

Have you tried Special K Cracker Chips? They make sea salt and sour cream flavors. 30 or 27 chips respectively for 110 calories. It looks like handsful of food on a plate. I like them with Laughing Cow cheese wedges or hommus
  • Being sick in the summer is the WORST! Your electrolytes might be a little wacky making you crave salty stuff. I too have cravings when I don't feel well. A healthier option i've found to curb my salty cravings is plain greek yogurt with a hidden valley ranch dip packet (its vegetable dip). I then use the dip for things like pretzels and veggies. There's lots of protein in the dip and no fat so I feel a lot less guilt eating. Hope this stimulates some ideas to cure your craving. Hope you feel better soon!!!!

Thanks everybody for your words of encouragement and support. Good to know I've got somewhere to turn when I'm feeling a little weakened. You've provided me with some very doable alternatives to those nasty little artery cloggers. Thanks a million my friends!!!! :flowerforyou:
