I've been very slowly gaining weight my whole life. Both of my parents are diabetic, as was my grandmother. My other grandmother and most of my family is obese, and my sister and mom have thyroid issues. I've always been the "least heavy" person in the family, but I've also always been mildly overweight, and after two kids - I've just kind of been hanging out around the 200lb mark. It was the day I weighed myself and was over 200 that I started counting calories.. That was about 3 weeks ago - I've been pretty consistently having a deficit, and pretty consistently not losing weight... Which is what always happens. I was using calorie count for those 3 weeks, and just started Myfitnesspal today, because I have the app on my phone...

ANYWAYS - I love veggies - I love good healthy food. You'd wonder how the heck I'm almost 200 lbs (5'9'') if you saw my grocery cart - My diet consists of mainly vegetables, whole grains, and some meats (and coffee with soy milk lol) - It doesn't make ANY sense to me that I am this big - BUT my diet it probably the reason I'm not BIGGER and I guess It just means that I need to try harder? UGH.

With two kids and my husband being away often(on tour - he's in a popular band..) It's pretty hard to find the time to get in any sort of workout - My exercise consists of mostly gardening and walking....

What am I doing wrong?! Is it really that hard to lose weight? My diet is freaking immaculate most of the time - and I am a freaking gardener - My job makes me sweaty!

I could really use a support team lol. Feel free to friend me - I'm all about chatting about food and exercise and all that stuff.. :)

You can do it. There's a lot of great information here. Accurate logging will give you a good idea where things are going awry. Best of success to you!

Totally going to start weighing my food.. I could probably lose about 50 lbs (my goal is more like 15-20, I like being a little curvy..) Also, I know that when the correct foods are available to log, that I am pretty spot on with measuring my food - I occasionally check myself with an actual scale, and I'm usually pretty darn close.. After 2-3 weeks of eating nothing but a perfect diet, I maybe lost 4 lbs, which is perfectly normal. I have to stop comparing myself to my husband who THINKS about losing weight and BAM it's gone. I also think he does it irresponsibly and basically starves himself, which is so stupid.. I don't have that in me, I don't like to be hungry, it turns me into an evil monster:) Slow and steady! Here I come! lol

Try cutting out carbs. Maybe you're insulin resistant. I am, and eating carbs, even healthy carbs, make me gain weight. There is a book that's a pretty good read "The Insilin Resistance Diet". It describes me to a T.
