Feeling discouraged

So I've been eating less(1400-1800 calories a day, depending on activity) and exercising 4-5 days a week for 50 days now, and I've only lost 4.5 inches off my target areas(2.5 inches chest, 1 inch midsection, 1 inch hips). I'm losing weight alright, but i really only care about the inches. =(. Any support would be really appreciated.

Based on your ticker, you are losing 1 pound per week. That's great!!! And losing a total of 4.5 inches so far is also fantastic! Chin up. Just remember that this is not a race. Weight loss and getting fit will take time. I've lost 32 pounds from my starting weight of 157 and it took me 1 year and 6 months to get here. Just think where you'll be in 50 more days! And 50 days after that! Keep doing what you're doing and never give up!0

It took way longer than 50 days to gain those inches, so don't worry about them not coming off faster. They're comfortable there. Lol..just be patient and eventually you'll make them uncomfortable enough to move out.0

What kinds of exercising are you doing. what kinds of foods are you eating. just because you are eating fewer calories what foods are you eating. certain foods store fat for long term and other foods store fat temporarily. if i eat at mcdonalds for lunch and have a protein bar for breakfast and a steak at dinner. maybe i ate less calories per my goal but the mcdonalds stored all that fat and grease. but if I ate 4 strips of low sodium bacon for breakfast. a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. an apple and some peanut butter for a snack and a 6 inch sub from subway for dinner than I just ate more food and still met my goal and ate food that burns off faster because it doesn't store so much fat. also if you are weight training muscle weighs more than fat so that could play a role.0

You may be losing muscle toning. Muscle is more dense than fat, so it weighs more. You can lose pounds but not as many inches if you don't make sure to do resistance training in order to keep your muscle mass. Also, make sure you are getting enough protein. That is what your muscle feeds on.0

You are doing AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is going to take a bit to loose (unfortantly) but think how long it took to gain!
Have you thought about setting smaller goals..then you will reach them and feel that "YES!!!" feeling . I have a skirt I try on whenever I get discrouaged..and I remember when I use to not fit in it and I feel great! ..of course..now I need to find a new 'goal' skirt! lol
You are doing awesome..keep up the great work!!!0 -

I do mostly circuit type exercise and eat home cooked meals that are loaded with veggies and whatnot.0
