Food options for Asian Indians

Hi all,

I was born in India but raised in America. I currently weigh in at 192 lbs and my height is 6'1. I have an office job and I workout 4-5 days a week and I am also part of my company's basketball league where we have a game once a week.

I see struggles with finding low carb, low fat and high protein meals to help with reducing weight and building muscle. Any advise on meals and foods that won't hurt the wallet but will help with losing body fat? Furthermore, I have a decent amount of muscle.

If you are eating rice, eat smaller portions of rice and try brown rice if you don't like brown rice, eat a harder to digest white rise (contrary to what my family says massoory rice is easier to digest leaving you hungry quickly)

If you like bread try paratha it is the whole grain option and limit your intake.
Eat more carbs on your cardio days less carbs on your weight lifting days.

When you cook use little oil and stay away from potatoes.

Arvi root is a good lower starch option.
Dosa is good mong beans are a very good source of proteint

Let me know if you need recipes
    I have plenty

Calorie deficit causes weight loss. Get enough protein (1gr per lb of lean mass), get >.3gr per lb of body weight, fill the rest of your calories with carbs, fat and protein, eat at a slight deficit, follow a structured plan, profit.

    It's that simple.

It is not possible to go low carb and low fat and only eat protein.
In order to lose body fat you need to eat less overall.
Eat the fat and carbs. Eat enough protein to support muscle. :)

I like to make veg and lentil/chickpea curries and eat it on top of an omelette instead of with rice. It sounds weird but it works!
