I was looking for a mashed recipe online but can't find anything without butter. Can I just boil and then mash them?

You can nuke them. 10 - 15 mins depending on size.

You totally can! All I do is boil or steam, and then mash (adding a little almond milk for liquid if I feel the mix is a bit stodgy) and that's it

Spritzed with oil and lightly salted, baked with a potatoe nail.
Or poked with a fork and microwaved if I'm rushed.

Mash with a little Greek yogurt and a little sugar free maple syrup (or regular) and some cinnamon! So good!!

My favorite way is to put them on the grill. The peel comes off easily, don't need butter or any kind of sweetner.

I peel and slice into medallions, toss with olive oil and bake at 450 turning to brown both sides. Sprinkle with a touch of salt. Then I top with a dollop of guacamole.

I like to bake mine in the oven. You can always just mash them after. I find the flavor is best when baked.

I like boiling or steaming then mash them. Add a bit of the left over water to get the consitency u like. Then add some apple sauce or better yet blend up an apple and mix that together and top with cinamon. My kids love it too.

275 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. Slow roasting caramelizes the potatoes, making them deliciously sweet without adding anything else. You can wrap them in foil first or just bake them in a foil lined pan so they won't drip in your oven. The low temperature is the key.

Forgot to mention, I put a piece of foil to catch drippings on the oven rack below the rack the potatoe is on.

I grab one and bring it to work with me. I just poke a few holes in it, wrap it in a wet towel and 6 -7 minutes is usually enough. Then I throw on a lil PB and cinnamon and indulge!!! mmmm!

I mash mine with half carrots (cut smaller than sp as they cook slower), half sp. No butter required.

Baked inf oil, or cut into thin rounds, drizzled with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and baked for 20 minutes, then turn and bake another twenty minutes at 400 degrees - sweet potato chips!

Last night I made shepherds pie and I used half potato and half sweet potato for the mash. Added a little stock, salt and garlic.

Best way for me is the poke some holes in them and wrap them individually in a wet/damp paper towel then in the microwave for a few minutes checking on them still you can feel that they are soft. The flesh is soft and mashable, good for anything!

Hi there! I slice and season them with paprika, sea salt, black pepper and garlic, a bit of extra virgin olive oil and bake them but not too much if you want to mash them.
In a pan add a little soy milk or almond milk (depending on your preferences), a pinch of nutmeg and one egg yolk if you want to, mix and mash the sweet potatoes in that mix and voilá.

Cut into coins drizzle/spray olive oil on top, bake 28-30 min at 375(maybe?) flip in between and season with salt pepper and thyme.

Use potato peeler to make long thin strips, spray with low cal spray, (add any spice if preferred) bake in oven to make the best crisps. Kids call them crispy snakes as they wiggle as they cook.

Look up crash hot sweet potatoes . I just use the mix of spices minus sugar and reduce butter/oil and then prepare as stated or just toss the seasoning mix w/ cubed sweet potatoes and roast. Even the kids will gobble them up.

Microwave. Take them out. Put them on a plate. Just 3 steps in the process.

Has anyone tried sweet potato toast? Supposedly you slice long ways and just put the slices in a toaster? I saw this on TV while waiting to pick up something at a store....

I think baking them in the oven produces a much sweeter flavor than the microwave. If you don't have an hour for the oven, you can start the process in the microwave then finish them in the oven. Seriously better flavor. My go-to with mashed sweet potatoes is a dash of chili powder and salt..no butter needed, but of course it's delicious if you do. Pair with black beans, fabulous!

I just stick mine in the over at 350 or 375 for as close to an hour as possible and eat as is. It's soooo lovely. Sweet potatoes are the nectar of the gods for me.

Bake or microwave, peel and mash the flesh. In a frying pan, sauté garlic in a little bacon fat, then add spinach and cook until wilted. Add corn kernels and sauté until hot. Pour over mashed sweet potatoes. Add salt and pepper as desired.
