Hi

I'm 56 and I need more motivation to workout. I try to take daily walks with my dog. He is the only reason I take myself outside. I get so discourage with working out sometimes. I was working out for about 6 weeks and just stop because I got tired of doing it. Have to find the right kind of motivation that will make me stick to it.

    Hi

I know how you feel. I'm 52 with no dog only a husband who goes to the gym but like you have no motivation . I keep downloading various fitness apps but do nothing with it, except delete it

yep sounds like me.. I do the same download them and delete them. Just so hard to want to do exercises daily. Just got to figure out away to push myself to want to do it.. So far haven't found any thing to make me feel like I want to workout.

I was right there with you both. Then I realized that my workouts are providing a stress reliever for me. Instead of getting the mindset of something I Have to do, It's now something I Strive to do. I feel lazy and unfulfilled if I don't get in some type of exercise daily now. I found some of the greatest joy I have is the afterglow from a good sweat. I'm 44 and love that for the first time in my life I have muscles in my legs... Pretty darned sexy for a grandma's legs. I love that I have energy to complete my days and I continue to find ways to change it up. I just recently started riding a bike because it was different and found that I still can! My suggestion is to find friends with the same goals you have, and preferably not the same lack of motivation. Look for ways to continue to build your workouts and make sure your mindset is on track. There are days I just don't wanna, and right now I'm 1lb 4 oz from 40 lbs lost. I still have more to go, but it's a daily decision for me to make today count. I recently started fitbit tracking, and will join every daily challenge that I can to continue to push myself to where I want to be. As with every opinion I leave, these are only my thoughts and each person can take it or leave it, but it's what I motivating me daily.

Thank you for that. I'm 52 and have started running up and down the stairs as a daily routine if I'm in a lazy can't be bothered to go out mood. I do enjoy walking so try and do as much as I can and tomorrow start jogging as i want to do a 5k run in sept.
