Understanding Calories

I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. A person should maintain a calorie intake of at leat 1200 calories per day. So if exercise burns 500 calories in a day than the intake for that day should be 1700 to replace the 500 burned to always maintain 1200 calories to function on.

I guess I was moreorless asking if I had this concept right if someone could please respond.0

You have the concept right, but 1200 is not the right base number for everyone.0
-
Ok well regardless of your "base", you should replace what you burned to equal your base again, right?0
-
Correct. MFP has a built in deficit, so when you exercise, you need to replace those calories to maintain the correct deficit.0
