Feeling discouraged and over weight

I've really been feeling discouraged at my weight loss goals and the way I feel and look currently and ultimate goal is to lose 75+ pounds and tone my body up I've been over weight my whole life and I'm wanting to change that now before something serious happens to my health. Please feel free to add me as a friend and also please feel free to leave any tips you may have as well.

    Hi, sorry you are feeling discouraged. The important thing is that you have decided to lose weight and you have a goal. That is a good thing. Now break your goal up into doable chunks like plan to lose 2-3 pounds a week, that is more doable then looking at the whole thing. Take one baby step at a time and celebrate your successes along the way. Make sure you document your food because studies indicate people are more successful when they track their food and weigh in at least weekly at the same day and time. Also look at how you or others may be creating stumbling blocks. You can do it....just take one day at a time!

    Hi there thank you for your tips I appreciate that very much. I'm also going to quit making excuses and go to the gym everyday and not tell myself I'm to tired and I've been doing that lately I'm also going to start putting my gym bag in my car the night before.

    See if you can get someone to join you, either exercising it eating more healthily. It makes it easier with support. I want to lose over 100lbs and have spent years making excuses but I really feel this time it will work for me. Also, log everything, makes it so much easier as you are working with exact numbers so can be in n control. Hope this helps and feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like to. Maybe we can encourage each other?

    I agree, don't look at the overall goal, look to loose just a little bit each week, even 1lbs is really good, it's a lot more than most people think. When I was feeling down about my progress of 1lbs a week, someone suggested to google how much it was, and tbh I'm over the moon if I get that every week
    Track what you eat and drink, maybe invest in some food scales and measuring cups and spoons, even measure out your liquids in a jug, it all helps (if you haven't already)
    Make sure you drink plenty of water too cos sometimes when you think your hungry, you just need some water and if you really are hungry you still feel it after drinking some then you know it's time to eat something.
    Also if you have a bad day and pig out (like I sometimes do lol) just log it and move on, get straight back to it the next day. This is a journey to change your eating habits for the better, take it slow, it's a marathon. Not a sprint
    Then when your feeling a little more energetic in yourself, add some new exercises in or take longer walks ect

    Work on one or two new habits a week. Maybe add in a 10 min walk at lunchtime. Or make it a habit to incorporate one new recipe or a new vegetable every week. I know you want to hit the gym every day..but sometimes life may get in the way, and really everyone should have at least one rest day.

    Small steps add up. You don't need to do a complete overahaul. That typically leads to disappointment and giving up. Be good to yourself and celebrate your victories.

    You aren't fat - you have fat. My tip is to love yourself - don't call yourself a fatty. Appreciate all the things your body does and can do for you. Get in touch with your body and reflect on how exercise and healthy eating makes you feel and forget about the look part right away - that will come. You have to, like other people have said, set small goals to accomplish. I find prepping all of my meals for the week and planning my workout schedule that same day is key. Don't cheat on yourself :)

    Thank you everyone I've been enjoying the gym it's a good way for me to unwind as I work at a daycare
