Hi everyone.

This is my first day here and I'm going out on a limb by asking this question. I realize that many people are ashamed to admit they suffer from depression or anxiety, let alone Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I was diagnosed nearly a year ago, and it's been rough going ever since. It seems that my trauma at the time opened a door for everything traumatic in my past to come through. I wish I could just erase these things I remember. Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't get out in public much, and truth be told, I'm actually an introverted home-body. I am on medications and have been seeing a psychologist (which hasn't helped). I'm hoping someone out there has some helpful advice, as this disease (affliction?) can be a very, very lonely road.

Thank you everyone, and take care!

My boyfriend has both PTSD and survivors guilt. I know it seems to be a lonely road. Feel Free to friend me and if you ever need to talk. I'm here. I was a depressed "home body" But MFP helped me change my out look on life and I'm doing much better.

Thank you. Being alone is something I feel often, even when I have people right next to me. LOL I'm glad there are others that I can connect with.

I've been there as well - was diagnosed a few years ago as Manic Depressive and have since come out of it for the most part. Losing 100+ pounds helped greatly and while seeing a therapist hearing him tell me excercise would help - I didn't listen at the time and now realize how right he was about it helping. I'm here if you need to talk & happy to share and help as I can ...
Welcome to MFP & thanks for letting us share in this journey!

I have never been diagnosed with it, but I have experienced it. Research shows Exposure to what ever it was that triggered it in the first place is supposed to help. I commend you for sharing your story, and if you ever would like to chat message me.
