I'm a podcast junky, and have heard him interviewed on a few, but am not up for listening to a video. Care to summarize?

Also, yeah, probably a debate topic.

Dr. Michael Greger: He’s a full-time animal rights activist with the anti-meat Humane Society of the United States. His job is to sell vegetarianism by making unsuspecting Americans irrationally fear their food. And he’s pretty good at it. Whether it’s beef, chicken, or dairy, Dr. Greger has a scare campaign to demonize it. He’s a prominent promoter of mad cow disease fears, claiming wildly that “thousands of Americans” may be dying of it each year. He’s written an apocalyptic book about bird flu, he’s alone (aside from PETA) in insisting that the SARS virus originated on livestock farms, and he provides other animal rights activists with flimsy “evidence” about the “dangers” of drinking milk.

When Greger’s propaganda is filtered through calm, reasoned medical experts who are focused on impartially evaluating evidence, it falls apart. He’s a snake oil salesman for an ideology, and it seems he’ll twist research to push his agenda. In that way, he’s a perfect fit for HSUS.

Death as a foodborne illness curable by veganism? I'm vegan and I fully expect to die someday. That's just bizarre.

Time to restate my usual rule of thumb:

Don't trust anyone in public life who uses the title "Dr." in front of their name.

(Professional life is obviously a different matter.)

Any vegan that writes a book called "How Not to Die" (don't eat meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy) is a complete wacko fanatic. Never listen to this guy.

I couldn't even get through it. Something about the mannerisms. Going off the rundown of others, sounds like a bit of an extremist. I used up the last of my disposable tin foil hats yesterday.

OP, I'm glad you found something that works for you.

I have it on good authority that some people will live to be 110 though.

Pretty sure my family would be sick to death (pun intended) of me by then! :p
