Weight fluctuation?

After successfully loosing 2 pounds last week, my weight had gone down to 145 on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it bumped up around 146 and hovered there till today, where its up to 147. I've been running about 2-4 miles a day and have been hitting below 1,200 calories. Typically, I eat avocado on toast for breakfast and then shrimp and a salad with fruit and a tablespoon of dressing for lunch and dinner. For some reason, my weight has gone up drastically. I fell off the wagon the past two days and ate around 2,000 calories. You can look at my journal entries if you want, I'm unsure how to activate them to let others see them. Could it be water weight from snacking on carbs like pretzels for the past two days? What should I do get my weight down again? Am I under eating and now my metabolism isn't working? Thank you! I'm really discouraged right now :(

It's from eating more the past few days, like you thought. It's not all fat, just maybe water retention, bloating, etc.
To lose the weight, just go back to your regular routine. We all have ups and downs.

Don't eat under 1200 calories. That really screws things up.

Just start eating to your calorie goal. At worst, you set yourself back a couple of days. Plus, your weight will fluctuate all the time, due to water weight naturally going up and down, undigested food, exercise, etc. Even if you are perfect every day, you will have some weeks that you don't lose or even gain. Just keep hitting your goal as often as possible, and when you don't just get right back on plan the next day. No big deal.

This isn't universal, but for some people eating too little or cutting out all the foods they love will cause them to binge. Eat your calories, and find a way to fit the foods you love into your plan. good luck!

Don't panic about the water weight, it comes and goes. You're not trying to lose water, you're trying to lose fat, and a couple of days of overeating will not make a big difference to that. You may not even have been over maintenance, and if you were, it wasn't by much.

I always lose weight really weird - and my scale can fluctuate by as much as five pounds in any given day - so, try not to panic.

And remember - if you are suddenly doing more physical activity - you could be building some muscle... and muscle weighs something like three times what fat does.

so... log, log, log... move, move, move... and try to be consistent for a few weeks... it will all fall into place.

I just binged on 2000 calories for 4 days straight because of a party this weekend and now I'm really concerned I went up to 154 from 145 pounds.... I feel and look really bloated! How can I get back on track? I'm worried about the consequences of what I ate the past few days

The effects are due primarily to water retention and more inherent waste in your system. Just get back on plan...it'll be fine in a couple days.
