So, it's my mom's birthday. She wants to go to Joe's Crab Shack, and I don't want my dietary restrictions to stop her. :) Any suggestions on what to get? I've never been there while counting calories before. We go maybe once and year, and the last time I went was on a "free day." Help please!

I went to Red Lobster last week for my anniversary and had snow crab legs - a pound was only around 185 calories. I did have to have butter, but I only used 1/2 of it so it wasn't too bad. Just go easy on appetizers

When I go to Joes, I order the steampots - any crab just steamed, no butter added. The meal with corn and red potatoes is usually under 600 calories

I went a few months ago, Go with the steamed pots. I shared mine with my 13 yo daughter and we had plenty. :smooched: It is about 600 cals but it is alot of work for crab/or clams....usually I lose interest before its gone.

How about eat whatever you want? I refuse to eat something off the menu based on calories or a nutritional chart just for the sake if. Moderation not Deprivation.

Thanks guys! I almost didn't eat anything at all, but decided at the last minute to get some steamed snow crab (just 1-1/4 pound) and two steamed baby potatoes without butter and a steamed ear of corn. It was really good! :) And then I enjoyed some of my favorite ice-cream in the world from Coldstone's. Thanks for the advice guys! I was a bit nervous about ordering, because the last time I went there, the "steampots" were FILLED with butter.
