Help! I need some inspiration/ideas

I'm STARVING today, I don't know what the deal is, I had a perfectly reasonable lunch and even added some sauted mushrooms to make it bigger and I'm still ready to dive into the pantry. My kids are eating oreo's for dessert, HELP!

    Are you thirsty? I find that when I am feeling that unsatisfied feeling after I eat, it is because I am thirsty, not hungry....
  • my guess would be that you didn't get enough fiber for the day. When I feel this way I snack on something like dry cereal or yogurt. Just remember the reasons why you are doing this and if you need to eat more just go for a short walk :smile:

    Did you miss breakfast? Or do you normally not have breakfast? I find that a big breakfast with tons of protein helps keep me filled up all day so I can make sensible choices for lunch and dinner. Small snacks in between keeps my hunger away too. If you exercised this morning, it may be that you are hungrier because of that. Try to drink a big glass of water and wait 20 minutes. There are times when our bodies confuse dehydration with hunger. If you are still hungry after drinking the water, have a snack. :)

    chug some water, tell yourself you can't have a snack until you're done :)

    by then I usually just get distracted and the craving is lost to my ADD haha


    OR if you gotta snack... have a veggie you don't really like. for instance, I don't realy care for celery. so if I want to eat mindlessly I get myself some... then I have like 3 pieces and go bllecchh I'm done. lol

    By your username I'm assuming you are a female. If not, my apologies. <3 When its that time of month for me (usually a few days prior on the dot) I'll get the munchies so bad nothing fills me up! I'd recommend if you don't have it already you should get a period tracker app either on your smart phone if you have one (iphone has a great free period tracker app) or on the computer. When that time comes (like 3 days before your period) exercise more than usual, eat a LOT of protein and you should have enough exercise calories to use on sensibly beating that craving without going overboard. Eat what you want then wait 30 minutes for another serving. Or chew gum!
