so I am 30, no kids. I have this pooch that will not go away. I exercise regularly, I saw a nutritionist and got my diet on track. I never had this thing until I had my appendix removed. it was taken out the old fashion way, big incision through the abdominal wall about 15 yrs ago and ever since then I have this belly. It really is the only thing that bothers me about my body. Do I just need to keep at it or do you think something got messed up with the appendectomy? doesn't hurt, just looks like I am 4 months prego. Someone told me I should stop eating carbs?

Hmm. I feel like a picture may be needed for this one. The incision may have something to do with it if you are at an otherwise healthy weight and body fat %.

I can't offer you perfect advice, but I can offer you what I'm trying for myself (though my situation is slightly different).

I've had the baby pooch for as long as I can remember. Even back to elementary school. It's why I always thought I was fat, even when I wasn't.

I'm trying stomach vacuums. They sound weird, but a Google will get you a pretty good description of how to do them. Basically, there's two layers of abdominal muscles, and crunches target the wrong ones. Stomach vacuums are an isometric exercise that's supposed to target the inner layer that supports the lower back and holds the guts in where they belong.

It might also be worth talking to your doctor about the possibility of a hernia. With abdominal surgery those are always a possibility and something that can only be fixed surgically.
