Not beating yourself up <3

A lot of times I chide myself mentally for not losing weight. But I thought of a different way to look at it.

(In the past years my weight ranged from 77-86 lb, usually being closer to 86) Now my weight is 97 lb and I feel uncomfortable with that because I'm not used to being this weight. So I would like it to go back to being under 90.

I have been beating myself up for not losing weight, but here's the thing. I am 28 years old and have never been on a date or had a boyfriend. I should actually be congratulating myself and proud of myself for the fact that despite all these years of loneliness, my weight has not gone past 100 lb. Sure, I gained weight due to emotional eating, but it has never gotten above 100 lb and it probably never will.

I feel hopeless and empty as a result of never having experienced romance before. The silver lining, though, is that my weight is the one thing in my life that I can control. I may not be able to experience love, but no one can take my weight away from me. That is the one thing I am most proud of. I could have been sitting here emotionally eating until my weight is in the triple digits but that is not going to happen. In fact I exercise 4-5 hours a day so I am able to eat but yet maintain my weight. So I am proud of myself for that.

Can anyone relate in any way? <3 How do you look at things more positively?

I find that taking extra time to do my makeup helps. Show the world your best face, and of course you need to choose carefully which perfume to wear! That way you can take pride in treating people to a delectable visual and olfactory treat, one they wouldn't be able to enjoy otherwise. They will be grateful to you and you will be able to sense that, so it won't matter as much that you don't have any friends. <3

Are you 28 or 35... You've stated both.

Also, can someone explain to me since I'm new to mfp why there's so many off topic threads? For a weight management site, I'm learning a lot about people's criminal history, dating life (or lack thereof), and bad clothing taste while hiking.

Oh, and carry on OP. Sorry for the interruption.

I think 35 is the default setting and I never bothered to change it. Thanks for adding me as a friend by the way Alicia. I don't know why it is that people keep writing about random things on other people's threads. It's a bit annoying as I'm truly going through a tough time and people keep writing nonsense on my threads.
