Hi all,

Just thought I would share with you my journey but in pictures.

I started off trying to lose weight on April 1st 2011 as I was weighing in at 319lbs. I have always found my weight as a 'disability' as it stopped me from doing many things. This needed to change, so my wife and I took up walking together.

This is me at 319lbs:

This is me today at 285lbs

34lbs lost so far and my target was to weigh 280lb by end of June - so only 5lbs out, which is pretty great!

My next goal is to hit 252lbs by September 11th - after that, we'll see how I look and feel but maybe go down to 210lbs-224lbs as I am large framed.

I have just completed the 100mi in June competition - all from walking and hiking outside! My fitness levels have increased drastically - even started the Couch to 5K program (had to pause it whilst my wifey has an op - will resume it in October!).

Fingers crossed!

Great job! It looks like your wedding ring is loose, that happened to me. Both my wedding ring and watch are loose and I like it as a reminder of my progress,

WOW - walked almost 10 miles today and tracked it all with my spanky new Garmin Forerunner 305!
    http://connect.garmin.com/activity/96272754

Had a couple of NSVs too:

    1. Went to see Transformers last night and the seat didnt feel cramped! My bum/outer thighs didnt touch the sides and loads more elbow room!
    2. We have a bath with a stand up shower. It no longer creeks when I stand up to shower!
    3. Step daughter told me that I now have a neck (!!!!!!).

39lbs lost so far - so it took 2 weeks longer to get to my 1st goal weight - but excellent!
So I am now 20 stone (280lbs) so I am on track to hit my 18 stone target by September 11th!

I found a work t-shirt that I never wore in the 4 years I have had it because it was too tight on me. I put it on and it fits perfectly!
    It is a 2XL!!!
    I used to be 4XL!!!!

Not been able to walk much as my wife (and partner in walking) had a hysterectomy on Monday so i've been looking after her, but I have been sticking to our calorie targets - making lovely meals!

I am SO happy to be almost hitting the sub 20 stone mark! Next week i'll break it, I hope :D

    Thanks :)

This week, I have returned to a bit of exercise as my wife had a hysterectomy on July 11th.
Last week we started walking a little bit - around the block, then a bit further. By Thursday she was able to walk 4.5 miles!

Yesterday we did a 4.5 mile cycle and a 3.2 mile walk - straight after each other! The cycle ride was VERY hard as we havent been on a bike for years!

It was up and down inclines and burnt 397 calories doing 40 mins of cycling. The walk was an hour and 18mins and burnt 528 calories.

I love my bike. It is a Kona Lana'I Deluxe 2011. My wife has a Claud Butler Scimitar 2011 - both are great value entry level bikes!

Even though we havent done any exercise in 16 days, we still managed to walk 58.28 miles in July (4.5 miles of cycling included). Not bad!

    Weighing 276 now too!

Last week, I got back from a 10 night stay in Cyprus - I love to call it our 2nd home. Unfortunately, it isnt really our 2nd home but we have been there 3 times now ;)

I went there weighing 274lbs - put on 4lbs when I was there. Not bad really as it was 35c there and not really walking weather ;)

The above is a photo of my wife and I - I look so much different! On the plane, I was able to lower the food tray without it hitting my belly! Yes, there was a 3inch gap between my belly and the tray - which was EXCELLENT and knocked off one of my achievements! :)

Now onto how much I have changed:

Here is a photo of me before:

    And now after:

I cannot believe the difference, especially with my face! We are back to exercising and healthy eating now - so YAAAY! :)
