if you go over your calories the day before should you take that into account for the next day and eat less or should every day be a fresh start?

That is really a personal choice, you can so that in the end it all works out, kind of like zig zagging your calories. Or you can just chalk it up to an "over" day and start fresh. I personally like to *start over* but it is what it is. Every meal is an opportunnity to start fresh

When I go over one day the next day I stay within my cals the next day and do not go below. Treat it as a brand new day. Yesterday was yesterday. I would exercise and maybe not eat back ALL my exercise calories.
