wrong nutritional information on packaged foods?

I just had a bag of Bird's Eye Steamfresh Couscous and Spinach for lunch. The package states it is 10 ounces, that it contains two servings, and each serving has 300 calories. 600 calories for a relatively small meal (which I didn't even enjoy, lol) seemed like A LOT. Went to enter the info in my diary, and I noticed there wwas conflicting info in the data bank - one stating 300 calories for half a bag, and the other 180 for half a bag (which seems much more reasonable).
I went on the Bird's Eye company website to check the nutritional info...and it states 180 for half a bag. So is that the correct info?? And did they just mislabel all their bags?? How common is this? Now I'm questioning everything I eat. This weight-loss thing is hard enough without food companies screwing with our numbers... *rant over*

Wow. Their website says one serving is only 180 calories. So the website differs from the actual package?
Edit: And I didn't read all the way. Whoops... yeah. I'd contact them with that big a discrepancy.0 -

I was going to email them...but alas, when I click on the "contact us" link at the bottom of the bird's eye page I get a message that "the site can't be reached". It's supposed to connect to pinnaclefoods...but apparently the website is down. I wonder what else is wrong with that company...
I would love to find out what they have to say. It might not seem like a big deal to them, but I'm currently on a 1,200 calorie diet, so consuming only 360 cal when the package tells me 600 cal is going to put me at an unsafe level...0 -
Well it is one meal which you didn't even like so I am assuming you're not going to eat it again - either pick one or split the difference and move on with life?1

That's not the point. For all I know, all there other products might be mislabeled as well. I have been eating a different package every day for the past few days, and was going to continue doing that. What's the point of "counting calories" if the info is wrong?

Use the 360. It's probably a misprint on your package. Couscous is around 180 call per 3 Oz. Spinach is much less. Maybe add 50 calories just in case. Also, it's very possible that the bag didn't contain 2 servings. Some do, others can be 1.8, 2.2, ect.0
