How much water weight would an average person gain if they started drinking a gallon or more of water a day? Just an estimate.

Water weighs approximatley 8 pounds per gallon and you eventually pee it out1

Well a gallon of water weighs approximately 8lbs. But it depends on muscle repair, TOM, how often you urinate etc. In the end, you will know that if the weight goes up, it's just a fluctuation from the increased water if you're logging accurately.1

From my Boy Scout days: A pint's a pound the world around. A pint of water weighs about a pound. So, if you did not processes any of it (all in, no "out"), you would would gain 8 pounds drinking a gallon of water. You can test this by weighing yourself, drink a pint and quickly weigh again. My scale shows a pound difference when I do that. Which is why on those high sodium days (Chinese takeout is the worst), I gain for a day or two until it all 'flushes' out.1
