Anyone else tried this? Like plain yogurt instead of sour cream on a baked potato. I love it. When I first tried it, it was noticeably different from sour cream on that potato, but before I was through with that first potato, I was convinced.

By the way, I always use plain yogurt now in recipes that say to use sour cream.

Yes to all y'all! (Practicing my Southernese.) I don't buy sour cream at all anymore, preferring yogurt in all things that usually use sour cream.

I tried greek yogurt with tortilla chips during a drunken binge. Not too bad once I got over the texture. Would try it again.

I like that combination, too -- with tortilla chips.

Yes, and I use it in place of sour cream for baking banana bread. It is also really good mixed with salsa or dry soup/dip mix to use as a veggie dip.

We do this, just because we eat a lot of yoghurt and only rarely eat things that call for sour cream, so it would be wasteful to buy it. Yoghurt is good with most things you would put sour cream with, the taste is only slightly different and if you use Greek yoghurt the texture is similar too. Just be careful cooking with it, it splits more easily.
