Heart Rate Monitor

I was just looking at heart rate monitors..I was thinking the ones with the watch and the chest straps are best. What do you guys think??
Also, the ones with the watch and the strap, do you have to wear the watch while using the strap? just because while playing sports you can't wear a watch...any thoughts??

Yes, the ones with the chest strap are the most accurate. You have to wear both parts for them to work.0

ok thanks
bummer though since i play basketball three times a week.0 -
I wear the watch and the chest strap together - I'm not sure you can wear the watch without the strap. I'm not sure what sports you can't wear watches for though, I always wear mine doing most stuff xx0

The watch just has to be close to the strap but it doesn't have to be on your wrist. Could you keep it in your pocket or on your ankle under your sock ?
I love my HRM. I used to hate running but once I started wearing a monitor I found I was running too hard/fast (for me). I now run with a heart rate of ~140 and it's not too bad (compared to the 170 that I used to do, which is just too hard and miserable.)0 -
I wear my HRM watch on my bra strap, under my tee shirt.0

Read this link, it will explain a lot about HRM's:

Personally I have a Polar FT7 and I love it. It has a chest strap and watch, and both are really easy to use and set up. I paid around 79.99 for it on drugstore.com.0 -
