Lost some weight, no more progress!

I consider myself a very active person, so I used to think eating whatever I wanted was acceptable. At the time, my weight was average, so I didn't think I needed to lose any weight. But, as the year went in and my schedule started to die down, I was still eating but not being as active. This was a problem because I gained about 4 pounds, which was an extra 4 pounds I didn't need. So, I started to change my eating habits. In my first week of healthy eating, I went "cold turkey" and 100% stopped eating junk foods. Giving up junk foods was probably the easiest part for me. After week 1 of replacing fatty cookies for juicy fruit, I lost about 5 pounds. I liked the results of being "fit" so I continued for 3 more weeks. At the end of the month I lost a total of 8 pounds, but nothing more. Compared to other people that are my height and age, I could lose so weight, but it's not necessary. But, I would like to be in my fittest shape by the end of the summer. So, can people comment and tell me why I haven't lost anymore weight!!! Any tips or suggestions would be helpful! And feel free to add me as a friend (I'm new) and/or ask any questions.

Congratulations on your burn! Sorry it's seems you're not making progress. From what I've gathered with my little experience, it seems that when people get down to a good size, it's harder to lose weight like they did before. Maybe some of it was water weight, too. But don't let it stop you...Everyone here tells people in your situation to eat less calories but I say do some muscle confusion and work harder! But what do I know, I'm fat. Hope this helps.

If you're not losing weight you are simply eating too many calories. Even 'healthy' foods like fruit can be quite caloric. And the closer you get to your ideal weight, the less room for error exists.

Here's a chart for you to look at. The answer you're looking for is in there:

Hi catryn you dont say how long you are talking about 8 pound in 4 weeks is awesome at the upper level .
What are your stats height weight & what your calories are set at
Did MFP set it for you and how much a week are you set at to lose ?.
how much exercise are you actually doing , your diary isnt open to see.
The first thing everyone on here will ask is do you use a scale & weigh every thing ? are you logging everything no guessing , there's a couple of short video's floating around on here about guestimating and using cup measurements instead of weighing in grams .
When we first start the first few weeks / month our body does shed a lot of water and the changes will help us lose weight but then we have to know how much we are eating.
If your really just looking to get into shape not lose weight , I'd recommend a persomnal trainer someone with good experience to get you started
    good luck
