lack.of sleep and how it affects, weight loss

Not sure if I'm in the right place. I JUST saw an article on this, something I'm struggling with, and wrote to a few friends, went to read the article in Forums I believe, not Hello Healthy, it was gone. I have been on Isagenix 5,weeks. Loosing weight. Have a lot of medical issues not related to weight. So I used to sleep and nap a lot. Isagenix gave me natural energy I haven't had in years. But I'm lucky if I get 4 hours a night now and no more naps. Its catching up to me. I'm up and snacking. Not horribly, but I know sleep and weight loss is,related. I brought every herbal tea for sleep and relaxation I could. I do take sleeping pills. Don't know what to do. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I feel, where I had a four week break, the lack of sleep is affecting my condition. Any ideas in the connection of diet and sleep, or natural ways to fall asleep would be much appreciated.

I average about 4-5hrs of sleep in a 24hr period, usually in 2 separate slumbers. This is usual for me this time of year/season. I don't suffer any short term effects and this doesn't go on long enough to notice any long term ones, usually 4-6wks. But everyone is different. To aid in what little sleep I do get I take ZMA, Mucuna Pruriens, Melatonin, and L-Theanine

I am glad this is not a long term problem for you. Let's see I'm on like I said my 5th week of sleeping like this. But its now, affecting my MS, mood, and concentration.

Thank you for sharing the supplements you use. Will look for them.

Thank you for taking the time to share and your concern.

    Have a great weekend!!

Help.me out. I know the name but don't get the reference. Is it that hyped up, muscled up guy with the long hair who sells products?

Tony Stark is better known as the Marvel Superhero "Iron Man" played by Robert Downey Jr. in the movie franchise.

A good sleep is really important for weight loss. Lack of sleep creates stress, stress releases cortisol, cortisol creates hunger...
Have you tried medical cannabis to help you sleep? You can find some edibles if you live somewhere where they're available. Take edibles about 90 minutes before you want to sleep. If you are able to use vaporizer, you have an easier effect. You can also look for low THC varieties (that's what makes you high) and focus on CBD's. You need find what works for you. The trick is to stay away from the varieties that increase appetite and use only varieties that decrease appetite.

Sleep is important for weight loss. Have you tried having a set bedtime? Using your bedroom only for sleep? Turning the lights to dim a few hours before bed? Turning off the TV and computer an hour before bed and just trying to relax? They say don't have your cell phone in your bedroom at night unless you shut it off because it emits something that can keep you awake. Some simple yoga stretches are relaxing before bed. There's pros and cons regarding Melatonin now so I would read about it before making a decision on that if I were you. Magnesium is supposed to aid in sleeping. Anyway, these are some things I know of. Hope it helps! Good luck!
