Omitting Coffee from Daily Journal

I drink black coffee nearly all day long. I absolutely love it and rarely put any type of cream or sugar in it, unless it's a special occasion, or I'm feeling comfy (like sweatpants, watching a scary movie comfy).

However, despite this site attributing calories to black coffee, I do not believe that it actually equates to much of anything. So, I omit this from my daily journals. Even my doctor said that coffee is so negligible on calories that it may as well be nothing (food in-take wise). If I add cream or sugar, I will add those to my journal count, however.

Does anyone else omit their coffee intake?

I drink Coffee and water.. Occasionally unsweetened tea. I never put it in there. There are 0 calories and that is what I am looking for. If it doesn't have calories, then it's not added. Only time I add it is if I mix my protein with it. (and then only the protein powder as it has 60 calories.)

when i was super serious i logged everything. now i have a better idea about my regulars calorie counts, i don't log fresh herbs, i don't log garlic, coffee i do just cause i use whole milk, heck, sometimes ill even eat a couple raspberries, or a nectarine from the garden and won't log it. i think its where you are at on how strict you are about some of those negligible items.

I don't log mine cause I drink it black. I can burn it off 10x checking the mail. I think it's about 1 calorie for 8 ounces.

I do not log my black coffee. I did once and I think it was less than 5 calories. I can burn that just drinking it.

I put mine in but only because I add a small amount of milk to it. The coffee itself adds up to about 7 calories a day (I drink 2 mugs a day). I doubt it does much to your overall intake and if it is more of a chore to you to log it don't bother. To each their own.

Sometimes I log it and sometimes I don't. Depends on my mood really. I also drink my coffee black.
I've actually been thinking I should be more diligent about logging the amount just to keep track of the excessive amounts of coffee I do drink. I don't think coffee is bad for my insides all that much - but I'm fairly positive that 2 pots (not cups, pots) of coffee a day isn't that great for my ticker.

I log it and all of the high calorie stuff I put into it. I also log sugar-free gum, which is usually 5 calories per piece and I log diet soda that has 0 calories, but has sodium. The only thing I don't log is water, which has no calories and so little sodium that it is tough to measure.

I'm an advocate of logging very meticulously, though.

I log it. I don't like picking things not to log as it just creates inaccurate journals. I also like to log it to account for the water consumption

I only log it because of what I add to it.

I log it, because it keeps me honest. "Close enough to zero" rounds down from 4 cals to 0. Two or three cups of coffee with 3 splendas, a few Crystal light mixes, and I'm 50 cals in. My deficit is small, so keeping myself honest is very important for me right now.

When I'm maintaining, it's not an issue. When my deficit was bigger, it wasn't an issue either.

I log mine but only because I put milk in. I don't usually log negligible calorie items like ketchup, mustard, breath mints/gum, etc. BUT, when I was actively trying to lose a lot of weight and really learning about portion sizes and my own metabolism I logged absolutely everything.

If you really are drinking it all day long, then those negligible Calories are most likely no longer negligible.

There are 20 calories in a Tablespoon of ketchup. I wouldn't call that negligible, but I honestly could drink ketchup through a straw I love it so much.

I only log the stuff I add to it, but I almost never add to it. I don't log black coffee.

I log the milk and sugar. Not the coffee. I only have one or two mugs a day.

I don't log coffee, because it has so few calories and I drink a consistent amount of it which I have no current plans to change. If I'm at 1935 instead of 1900 or so, who cares. Rounding error. If I don't lose/maintain as I like I'll just cut calories, coffee has nothing to do with it. Plus, I've never logged coffee, so it's not included in my estimate of TDEE from results.

When I was losing I usually just did a 100 cal "quick add" per day to account for black coffee, lemon squeezes, dashes of hot sauce or mustard, etc. It made me feel more accountable and was useful when my deficit was small to make sure I wasn't going over accidentally.

I don't log the coffee- if I add milk/sugar- I add that- but I drink so much of it- I don't bother.

If my phone is close by, I'll log it. If not, then I don't. That's my rule for black coffee. If making a BPC, I'll definitely log it.

I don't log black coffee. At about 5 cals (or so) per cup, and 2 or 3 cups per day... I can't be bothered.
Everything we enter is an estimate anyway, so I'm prepared to skip 10 or so cals a day.

But, you also won't find me posting "OMG, why am I not losing weight?"
I know there are some rubbery figures in my diary, but I'm happy with my progress so I will keep going like this.

I do log lattes - due to the milk, they are more like 90+ cals so they go in.

I don't log black coffee, pre-workouts, diet sodas, or water. That's a complete waste of time.

The only reason I log mine is to see how much I am drinking. It's just a reminder, more or less, for me. I don't have a caffeine addiction or any gravely ill effects, it's just so I can have a visual reminder.

When it's black, I don't bother. If I ever add anything to it, I'll log that addition precisely though.
