And I have 60 pounds to lose. Please send any advice! My weaknesses are cake and sweets. It's sooooo hard. Today is the first day of my journey.

The trick to beating sweets is to force yourself to not eat them, cut out most other carbs too and you will (believe it or it) stop craving them. I've also found that I just can't have it in my house. I'm a sweets junkie and haven't had any for a couple months now. I've lost 45 pounds in 2 1/2 months using MFP and NOT eating carbs. It can be done. Good luck!1

OR... if it works for you... you could try still including cake and sweets occasionally but just have a small amount that you can fit into your calorie allowance.
Personally, I find I do better if I can still have the things I love rather than telling myself anything is off limits, but everyone is different and some people just can't moderate - they have to cut out their "trigger foods" completely.
Experiment and see what works best for you! Good luck, and congrats on the upcoming nuptials!3 -
I wish I had lost weight before my wedding. Now I want to redo all of our pics.
You shouldn't have a problem losing 60lbs healthily in 12 months. Set your weight loss around 1.5 pounds per week and start accurately recording everything that you eat and drink. Make yourself accountable, if you go over one day, no problem just make up for it during the week. You can do this!1 -
Thanks everyone! Please add me and check on me EVERYDAY!!!!! I am determined!!!!!0

My weakness was bread, potatoes and pasta. I thought it would be hard too. So far I am not craving it like I thought I would. I still eat small amounts but nothing like I used to. I am down 20lbs. and I have 80 more lbs to lose!1

I have recently started too and also love sweets. I find that when I don't drink enough water in a day those sweets call to me even louder! So my advise is keep well hydrated. I'd be happy to add you as a friend. It's great we can all cheer for each other!0
