Hey all
I started my weight loss journey about 3 weeks ago ( June-15) with a weight that is 268.9 lbs. Now I am 255.7 lbs.
so that's 13 lbs/ 3 weeks weight loss, which is 4.6 lbs/ week. My target was 2lbs/wk.

I know that initially most of the weight loss is water, although I am not sure if losing water can make someone lose that much. However my question is, what if next week I weight myself and it is 251.7 lbs. (another 4 lbs lost) What shall I do?

I eat 1600 cal/day if I don't move a lot, and 1800 cal/day if I walk an hour/day , I rarely feel hungry or tired, so I am not sure about eating more to slow the weight loss rate .

It is probably some water weight loss, just keep going!! It will slow down but don't get discouraged, you are doing great!!

Just go with it. When I started in January I did the same thing I pulled numbers like that for 5-6 weeks. I lost 25 pounds the first month. You will even out. I started at 283. Last weigh in 206.8. The closer you get to your goal the less you lose per week.

I know it's hard to realize how many calories your'e cutting. But when I started I cut out all soda. Just the amount I would drink in a day was over 1000 calories. It didn't seem like much at the time but the alone helped me lose 2 pounds a week. Then I cut food calories too.

Keep going, those of us with more weight to lose can drop pounds quickly. Don't get discouraged when the rate of loss slows down.. That is the biggest problem you will face. You will continue to do the same thing and not lose anything for a week in the future...it really sucks but remember that you lost more than most, quicker than most.
    Good Luck!

Scale weight is inaccurate and meaningless. If you feel good, keep at it and reevaluate after a few months.

I've heard that losing up to 1.5% per week is still ok, and at your weight you are close to that. If you keep losing at a higher rate, you might take a look at your activity level, you might have it set too low. Sometimes the sluggishness, etc. from undereating comes on slowly so just keep an eye on it.
