Ways to improve jump roping

I'm hooked on jump roping. I love it. Great for quick warm up, general cardio, and foot speed. I usually work it in between sets and as stand-alone cardio workout but my problem is with the latter. I can't seem to go longer than 1.5 minutes without getting caught. Any good jump ropers here that can offer advice as to lengthening jump roping time and improving jump roping overall? My ultimate goal would be to do 30-40 minutes of jump roping without having to stop after every minute.

Thanks.

Two words....Jump Snap. Sounds like the most stupid thing in the world, but it's a ropeless jumprope. Feels like a jumprope, you can put weights in the handles, and you get the same workout without the blasted rope getting tangled around your feet. Plus, you can use it indoors in a room with normal height ceilings.

So is this like an invisible jump rope?? Sounds interesting.
