Hi, I have been using mfp off and on for awhile, my heaviest was 240 I'm 176 now. For some reason this time around it's tougher. I've lost 4lbs in 23 days (all of which were in the first week) and I believe at least a couple of those are from water. In the past I lost faster at the beginning. There has been one big change in my life which is I now work midnights 3 days per week, but I track per 24 hour periods so I think this should effect things much.

According to Fitbit I burn about 2500 calories per day. On average I'm eating around 1200-1500/ day. I don't cheat, I measure. So how much should I be aiming to burn and eat per day for a consistent steady weight loss? I am 5'7" and 29 years old

Thanks

How tall are you? How old are you? Do you use a food scale to weigh all your food in grams?

You can determine your own TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) at websites like scoobysworkshop.com.

And, you can use this chart to help you figure out what's wrong.

I didn't know your activity level, so I entered your stats as "sedentary" and got this...

So, 1725 calories to lose a pound a week. In order to insure you are actually eating 1725 calories and not overestimating, buy and religiously use a food scale.
