Weight loss after Hysterectomy

This is my first post....I don't really know what to say.
For the past two years I have dealt with constant weight gain. When I was 27 I had a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo oophorectomy. Since then I have gone from 130 pounds to 200 pounds and now 170. I work out constantly, I eat right, and it has been 15 months and I have only lost 30 pounds...I wonder if I'll ever be happy with myself again....my motivation is starting to fade...I just want to love myself again.
Are there any other females in the community who have experienced something similar?

I hope this isn't to forward to ask, how old were you when you had the hysterectomy? Did you gain alot of weight since the surgery? Is the weight harder to keep off now? I'm glad to hear you were able to keep your ovaries so you don't have to undergo hormone replacement therapy:)0 -
I had a hysterectomy two years ago, at the age of 34. I still have my ovaries. Maybe the hormones (or lack of) make a difference because I've since lost about 140 pounds.
Make sure you're weighing all your food. It really does make a difference. Log everything and don't give up.1 -

I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago, at the age of 32. I have gained about 17 lbs in that time. Losing weight is much harder now.0

If you haven't, already, you may want to also check on the site hystersisters.com
My surgery was almost 10 years ago. My weight gain had little to do with post surgery and I did not find it easier, or harder, to low afterward. I am not on any hormone replacement, so that may skew things for those who are.0
